Rock Wool, a mineral fiber derived from molten rock (basalt or diabase) processed at ultra-high temperatures, addresses two critical brake pad challenges: heat management and structural reinforcement. Technically, our selected Rock Wool grade features a fiber diameter of 4-7 μm and a length of 3-8 mm—dimensions optimized to interlock with other pad materials (like resins and friction modifiers), boosting overall structural integrity without compromising friction performance. Crucially, it boasts an excellent thermal resistance, with a continuous operating temperature range of -260°C to 760°C and a melting point exceeding 1,000°C—far above the peak temperatures (typically 400-600°C) generated during heavy braking, preventing thermal degradation of the pad’s internal structure.
